Cats Available for Adoption

Dickens

Dickens

Name: Dickens
Gender: Male
Age: 1 Year (April 2018)
Color: Black
Description: DSH

Dickens is a special kitty in many ways. He is such a loving, sweet and playful young man. You can't help but fall in love with him as soon as you meet him. He has never ending energy and just wants to be with you. If his foster mom is out of his sight for too long, he will yowl and it sounds like "ma!"

Dickens is also a special needs boy. He was born with Cerebellar Hyperplasia. Cerebellar is a condition where the cerebellum of the brain doesn't fully develop at birth. This part of the brain is responsible for balance and fine motor skills so a cat with CH can look wobbly and uncoordinated.

This is not a contagious condition and cats with it can lead perfectly normal lives. They just require more supervision and provisions than a cat born with a normal cerebellum. Essentially, Dickens front and hind legs don't talk to each other. So the front legs may do one thing and the back legs may do another. Therefore, Dickens would do best in a carpetted home without stairs. Since he can easily trip people, he would also do best without small children and in a home without people who have difficulty on their feet. It would be best if his owner is not away from home for long periods of time because he can't get himself out of a bind as easily as most cats.

People who have had a CH cat in the past will tell you...there is something special about them. They are so loving and such people cats. Are you that special person for our Dickens?

Wesley

Wesley

Name: Wesley
Gender: Male
Age: 2 Years
Color: Black and White
Description: DSH

Wesley was found trying to get into someone's garage, hungry, cold and scared. He wouldn't let anyone near him. Now that he is safe in his foster home, he's gone from a total scaredy cat to a very loving and affectionate young man!

Wesley loves to sit on your lap, be brushed, get his chin scratched, and run after his toys. Once he trusts you, he will even let you give him kisses on the top of his head. He does need to warm up to new people so his person will have to be willing to give him time to acclimate to his new home. We feel that patience will be rewarded!
