Since Second Chance Pet Adoption is all volunteer, we rely on the community for support.
Support can be in the form of donating time, talents, and/or fostering.

Foster
As a foster home, you will provide care, love, attention and a safe environment for a homeless cat. Second Chance Pet Adoption will provide all necessary veterinarian care, supplies, and food. We rely on our foster homes to care for the animals we rescue . Our foster homes are given support from other fosters and the organization. We bring our foster cats/kittens to weekend adoption shows in local pet stores.
Fostering is a wonderful way to add the love of a cat/kitten to your life temporarily. It can be very hard to see them get new homes, but there is always another cat that needs its second chance for love just waiting to be placed in your home. Foster homes are continually needed and the number of homes we have determines the number of cats we can help.
Volunteer
Volunteers are always needed for various activities and more so at various times of the year. These opportunities include:
- Fundraising and Sales: Entertainment Books, World's Finest Chocolate
- Represent Second Chance Pet Adoption at our booths: Lincoln State Cat Show and Chicagoland Family Pet Fair
- Adoption Shows
- Cat transport to Adoption Shows or to Veterinarians
- Mailings
- Making phone calls for various events
- Publicity
- Garage Sales
- Help with making cats beds and other craft items
- Christmas Photo Shoots
- Christmas Gift Wrapping
- Fundraising Ideas....
